Started showing up at 64,000 mi.
Was diagnosed as misfire in cyl 2. Dealer said #2 plug was fouled and replaced it.
Was fine until 68,000 mi (12/27/2012)
Same problem 4K later. Car is now in florida where I am working with another dealer. Car was still under powertrain warranty when problem started. It's off now. All external tests have been done and confirmed ok.
GM tech support is involved now. They have recommended pulling the head.
Just waiting to hear back from dealer.
I'm praying GM will cover all or part of this, as it started while still under the powertrain warranty.
Will keep you posted.
Talked to the dealer today. Problem was worn valve guides. (Can't believe it at 64,000 mi) Head needs to be replaced. It's in the hands of the local rep to approve it under warranty.
I'm hoping for full coverage and I just get stuck for the $110.00 diagnostic fee.

If you have the receipt for the diagnosis and they pay for the repair, they should reimburse for the diagnosis.

Then you will be a smiley face customer!

Got a call from my service rep today. He stated that gm is willing to go half way on the repair. Not happy with that answer. My share is going to be approx $980.00 (OUCH)
Car is back together and they want to road test it more before releasing to me.
I am definately gona be talking to management at the dealership. This just isn't fair to be hit with an expense like that when it is a known problem and it started while under the powertrain warranty.

Sorry to hear this , That is why i will never buy a dodge again , Had a 1999 intrepid , Threw timing chain with 36,900 miles . 900 out of wrty.
They paid labor and half of parts . Gee thanks .

I hope they reconsider your issues . Good luck .
When i had my 1st SS things were an issue at 35,900 miles and i made the dealer put a note on the work that if not fixxed, it was an issue prior to bumper to bumper expireing. That saved my asz , They had it 3 more times to resolve .

The dealer service director is gona work to get my diagnostic fee re-imbursed also.
I'm very happy. Gm has stood behind their product.

The guides actually come loose in the head and it's not from wear. Great that they gave 100% coverage.
