to the forums!

There's a link in my signature to help diagnose noises.

The mobile site doesn't show signatures, so if you're on mobile, tap on the hamburger menu button, top left of page, then in the drop down menu, tap "view full site ".

There’s a bearing in the transmission it’s most likely the output shaft seal and cup, any puddles of transmission fluid under the HHR?

Does it squeak only when the cat is rolling?

Hello,
I have the exact same symptoms.

It could be the output shaft seal? Such a noise / strange cracking squeeze noise?

Thank you
marek

In that area of the car it might be the CV axle or the bearing hub.

Check the hubs/bearings. Jack the wheel up and push/pull toward you; if there is any movement of the rim the bearing is bad.

Hello @Oldblue @donbrew I can't speak on behalf of this thread but in my case both hubs / bearings are without any worn/movement (right side has new one 2 weeks).

Originally I suspect pinion rack and ordered new one to replace but what if it is touched to CV axle?

Thank you

Does it make the sound when the car is not moving? Have the struts been replaced recently?

I have replaced suspension completely...only rack pinion and CV axles missing...

If I remember well no sound when not moving.
