Dealership can't get a front axel?

So, it's been a couple weeks now and the local dealership can't locate a front axel?

This is for a 2008 SS...how hard can it be? I have an extended warranty that is going to cover the repair, but the dealership is saying they can't find one.

Has anyone else had this problem with this?

Apparently they are scarce, I did Google for 2008 SS and found a none GM site for First Equipment Quality , they list different axles for left and right and then automatic or standard transmission for the SS model, around $ 60.00 each
I do not represent this company or suggest you purchase from them just that I found info via a Google search
I did not find any axles for the SS on any GM sites at this time

The problem I found with many places...

The computer will list the same part number for the SS as the non-SS, however they are differnt parts with the SS one being bigger.

But the funny thing is...half hour after I posted...the GM dealership called to let me know they got the part in.

I'll have my car back tomorrow :-)

Must be the power of the Google search! LOL

And no Guns and Roses!! Either too much Axle Rose!!
I know I know and no Beverly Hills Cop theme music!

I see what you did there; Rose and Foley actually would be Axel like the name of thread and in the OP's question.....cars have axles

While I know it's not the dealer, https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raf...e=CHEVROLET&ck[ID]=0&ck[idlist]=0&ck[viewcurrency]=USD&ck[PHP_SESSION_ID]=5u834ppo43b9u5mvpt5tiipqi7

They are out there, I need to replace my left one.

Oldblue, $ 60.00 dollars each... are you sure that is for the whole half shaft or just one of the CV joints? On the Rockauto site ~ $ 142

If you notice in post #3 the OP has satisfied his quest. The dealers called him.

Please understand I was not trying to "zap" anyone. It was just a thought that people could use the time for other project suggestion requests......once the answers start, very few will begin from the beginning and continue suggesting places to purchase.
