Digital gauge not as responsive
Digital gauge not as responsive
Hey guys,
I’ve got my first "free" oil change at the dealer on an auto 2010 SS with 16K mileages on it. As soon as I got behind the wheel I've notice the gauge not as responsive as it was previously.
It used to be a notch or two above 0 and oscillates when the engine was running in idle; now it is stuck at 0 and barely moves when accelerate. I notice a longer hesitation when I accelerate as well. Any thoughts on what they have been done!
Thanks in advance.

Which gauge? The boost gauge? Something may be causing your car to disable the turbocharger. Best get the car back to the dealer to fix whatever it is.. they just worked on it and you are still under warranty anyway.
That is why I personally take a "pass" on the so-called free oil changes.
Sounds like the oil change guy(not technician) most likely knocked something loose. Check the areas where he was working:filter area especially. Also if he tried to check that troublesome to get at air filter,he may have leaned on the intercooler plastic pipe and dislodged it. Or worse, cracked it.
Should be something easy to find and fix. Let us know the outcome.
BTW. Did it throw a code or CEL?

I found it odd, but with mine when it lost boost it would not immediately set a CEL. After a couple drives with the issue present it would set the CEL. It did immediately store a code though that the dealer could read with their scanner.
I would suspect that the tech may have inadvertantly pushed against the upper T-map sensor. I may simply be dislodged at the connector. Try simply unplugging it and then plug the connector back onto the sensor. Hopefully that is all that it was. The upper T-map is in the general vicinity of the oil filter, the tech may have leaned on it, maybe even breaking it.
