2006 HHR LT - While driving DIC went black. The illumination around the temp, speed etc. works fine as does the "mph" illuminated indicator. I replaced fuses 7 (internal fuse box) and 62 (engine fuse box) but no luck. The car runs fine and steering wheel functions work fine but I can't enter the DIC at all. Thoughts?

 

My only guess would be that the instrument cluster has failed. I believe the dic and the cluster are all one assembly.

You may want to try disconnecting the battery and reset all the modules. I don't have high hopes this will fix your problem but I can't hurt to try.
