Electrical issue(s)

I was driving yesterday turned off the car and then turned it back on when I got back out of store. When I started the car again everything was fine until I started driving off then power steering and gauges turned off. And car wouldn't shift so it was in a limp mode or something when. I puttered home and when I got home I was smelling something coming from the back of the car and the battery was very very hot. When I would take my foot of the gas it would all come back gauges and power steering If anyone could give me some pointers on what I could be looking for that could cause this intermentent issue . I would appreciate it thanks guys when I start the car all's good until I give it some gas then shuts off gauges and power steering

I just reseated every fuse and relay it all seems to to me more or less the same except now the power steering and gauges just turn off after a few seconds. Instead of only when I give it gas
There's also a bunch of clicking happening in the dash

And I tightened the bolts very tight
Just checked the voltage on the battery it is 11.9. Still starts the car fine but I know that's a little low. And when I turn the car on the voltage goes up to 17v would this be just the battery? I didn't think the alternator should put out that much volts. Would it be the alternator regulator then? Idk if that makes sense

The repair manual states that the generator (alternator) can put out as high as 19+ volts depending on demand and battery status.
I suggest you have the charging system checked. Most auto parts store will do this.
Sounds like you have a bad battery. The battery being hot to the touch is either it is shorted internally or you have a bad or loose battery cable.

I would but I wouldn't dare drive it into town again especially hearing

I would but I wouldn't dare drive it into town again with what people want for a tow right now is insane. And if it stops working on me I'll be broke lol. I have OBD2 scanner plenty of tools and am pretty handy is there anything I can test myself ? If it's not a simple fix I'll dig into the rainy day fund and get a mechanic to look at computers and whatever. Or just get a new car. Should I try taking the halves of the fuse box apart and try that?

If you have a battery/charging system tester then yes, test it yourself.

The battery only got hot when I drove it home after the issue started initially it doesn't get hot now but I haven't let it run long. I know 17 v would boil any lead acid batteries I use for solar and they would get hot. I'll try another battery here's all the codes it's giving I don't know how many of these are related I know electrical issues can cause cascading effects. I guess I'm just wondering what common causes are. Thanks for the replys guys I really appreciate it

After this happened I figured it was a good time to go back and fix the power window issue I was having I fixed it in the winter but it didn't last long lol but anyways after lifting the seat up and the carpet to get to the junction under the seat for the windows I noticed a bunch of white ish green powder all along one section of the harness. I unwrapped it and found a black wire pair that is in a aluminized shielded wire casing around it some sort of data line? Heading back under the back seat. the One conductor is bare under the flimsy shielding and is pretty corroded. I will be replacing it once I find some shielding and maybe a few tips from you guys any idea what this wire is for? Could this be my issue ?
