Electrical problems tonight...

MY car is a 2008 HHR LS AA5 , has 1,900 miles on it!!

i was driving to walmart and the water temp and low tire press. lights came on. i then pulled over, shut car off, checkd tires n engine... everything was good , tires were 30-31psi... So when i restarted car , at idle the cars guages were at 20mph n 3k rpm. So i just went to walmart, after walmart, it was all back to normal.

Any advice?!?!

thank you,
paul

First thing, open your fusebox under the hood and push down on all the fuses and relays (could cause an intermitant problem). Take it to the dealer and have them read the codes.

There is probably a code stored in the system. If any fuses had been loose to the point of causing a malfunction, the system could not have reset itself.

Hope it was just a fluke!

Had a Dodge once and going down the road, the PCM switched to limp mode, car would not come out of second gear, I panicked, pulled over shut it off, waited, restarted, all was fine, that was 10,000 miles ago.

I had a 2002 Cavalier do that once. The speedo and tach wouldn't always return to their proper "0" condition and eventually it would say I was going like 100 or 120 when I was only doing 55 or 60. Same for the tach. Reading was way off. There were a few red lights on the dash that accompanied it.

I hoped it was just a fluke but it got more and more frequent. The dealer replaced the cluster and all was well (well they had to replace it a second time as something was wrong with the first replacement and then all was well.)
