Need help. My emergency flashers are coming on at random. I've searched the owner's manual to no avail in search of a fuse or relay or whatever operates them for a problem. The problem is intermittent but sometimes runs the battery down or gets the attention of the police. My model is a 2009 LT. Any suggestions?

 

The first thing I would do is disconnect the switch on the dash to help isolate the problem. Your owners manual should have the info on which fuse they use. Correction: I had a look at the 2009 Owners Manual and did not see any fuse listed specifically for the 4-ways - so am taking a look at some of the manuals I have here.

Update: Fuse #69 in the engine compartments fuse block controls the Parking lights - relay = #68
The Hazard switch on the dash is connected to the Body Control Module which then governs the use of the hazard lights.

I'd still try disconnecting the Hazard switch and see if the problem goes away, then go after the relay.
