Angry Emergency Help!!!!

Hello Guys,

I wanted to ask for any experts in street pavement replacement out there to help me out. I parked my HHR about 3 days ago at a local Walmart by my house. They where replacing the pavement in the paking lot and I could see huge cloud of dust being formed by the machinery there. Went I go up the next morning and going to the carwash I notice over spray paint all over my car and I talk to the contractor there and he stated that there is no way over spary could of hit my car and since they used yellow paint it could not be it.. I need help in finding a way to prove this people wrong.. I know they probably could use some liquids that could have done the damage..Please help... I will post the pic so you can see how all my car looks like now..Its looks like its has dust but in reality it has over spray from what it looks like its white...

Thanks in advance

John

I told them either they fix my car or I am sending Walmart to court cause I just got my car 3 months ago... I was also told to go to the nearest shop and get estimates and present the estimates to them or get my insurance involves..Called my insurance and they told me if I use the insurance it will go against my license.. I do not get it then what is the point of getting full coverage insurance if I am still going to be blamed for this..

Everybody is forgetting what its like to "do the right thing" F'in insurance.

I kinda got the same thing last year. they were painting the yellow strip, and one of their work trucks was leaving. his tires slung road paint all over several cars. once dry the paint has a concrete quality and "pops" off pretty easily. just don't use anyhting harder than your fingernail, or a small block of wood. the wood will act like a razorblade, just make sure you don't trap any paint into the wood, it will scratch then.

another option is a mild HCL solution and a High pressure sprayer. The engine/tire cleaner option at most do-it-yourself car washes is close to HCL. just don't let it dry. you may have to do this a few times.

I had something like that on my wifes car one time when it was only two months old. It was like a concrete dust or something. I used a product for cleaning sinks, i think its called limeaway or something. It comes in a green bottle. Anyway i put a little on a rag and wiped it right off. So i did the whole car with it and then washed the car really good with car wash soap. PLEASE NOTE TO TRY JUST A LITTLE IN A HIDDEN SPOT BEFORE TRYING IT ALL OVER THE CAR. I was also not a happy camper.......After the wash job i waxed it and you couldnt even tell anything happened. It was alot of work for me but at least i didnt get yanked around by the insurance company.

Ok.. thanks for the suggestions guys. Also I talked to my work and I asked if there was any painting done recently by the area where I park my car and guess what??? Yes they where painting some AC Generators what color? White.... So my VP is looking into this...They do want to know when do I think this happened. I told them I do not know.. I know I had bought a Bra from here installed it on Saturday and my car was very clean..Sunday I came from work and went to Walmart and Also I went to Walmart on Monday and Tuesday and they where doing contructions so I really thought it was them..so now I do not know what to do... How would you guys handle this situation? and what do you think is needed here a repaint of my car or just buff and wax? If you try to scrape the paint off with your nail its hard it does not come off.. I tried clay bar in one area and it did not come off.. I went to a friend house who works for a detail shop and he told me the paint some how is under the clear or very very deep in the clear...Also how much is a Buff and wax on a car like this? The paint is even on my brand new BRA... and my windows...

Its crazy...

First we would recommend getting another insurer! That's total B.S. in regards to going against your policy and will result in higher premiums! Easiest way to remove the overspray would be "Clay Bar" and then a nice coat of wax!

It sounds like it happened at your job, and the VP seems open to dealing with it. Ask them to pay for a shop to do the cleaning/clay bar thing. It'll be cheaper than a repaint, and will show them you're willing to solve it without gouging them.

Here is the email:

Is it quite possible that the paint could have blown under the northwest side of the basement and gotten on his black vehice?

Thanks

Hello Cornel,

I am sorry to bother you but I have a huge concern. Yesterday when I went to my car to wash it the car wash people pointed out to me that there was white over spray paint all over my car.

All I remember is that in my car I installed a new BRA on Saturday afternoon and my car was fine. I notice this just yesterday… So can you let me know if there was anything done to any of the building around that parking area from Sunday till Yesterday?

I included I picture so you can see how my car’s paint looks like now…

Thanks

Hopefully it gets resolved soon. At least your boss seems to be willing to work with you which is a big plus beings it seems like it happened at work...

Keep us posted, and good luck!
