Engine Code P0011

I have read the articles about the Camshaft Actuator being bad, is the reason for this code being thrown. Can anyone tell me if it is ok to continue driving my car until I can fix the problem? It is my only vehicle and I will have to do the repair myself when I have the funds. Just wanted to make sure I'm not going to shell my motor or anything. Thanks for any information.

If you were to call your local Chevrolet dealership's service department, they should be able to provide you with the information you are seeking about your vehicle. Depending on the year of your HHR, this might be something that is covered under the Powertrain warranty.

Do you mean camshaft actuator solenoid?

Nobody can say for sure you won't have trouble due to the CEL. It's up to the ECM gods as to whether they want to throw you into "reduced engine power".

Okay, thanks for the information, and yes I meant the Camshaft Actuator Solenoid. I have a replacement on the way.
