engine light
engine light came on last night when I started car to go to work.
I turned engine off and took wives car to work, just getting upfrom work <12 hour shift at night> turn car back on engine light still is on. Will run down to auto zone and have them code it for me in the morning <Monday> anyways I start the car and feels like it is missin, shouldn't be to much of a problem just need to get code for trouble. will let ya no |
And once you do, we can inform you a bit better, but it sounds like it might be a lot of things...

Yup, to second the Lawdog's advice, have the codes pulled and post 'em up here.
A misfire or ropy idle can be something really simple to rectify, or it can use up some time and money to correct. We'll await your reply. |

I'm thinking it's time to change oil at 55% |
try the oil change first, but those codes could possibly be the VVT solenoids, but you have a 2007 2.2 liter, double check, as my 2007 2.2 does not have the VVT. Hmmm.

I'd stick with genuine GM ones rather than after market ones. They may cost a few extra $'s but that way you know they are the latest revision.

UPDATE !!!!!
okay when I got to auto zone to pick parts up, they didn't have all I needed at one time, said all parts would ready to pick-up in the morning , as luck would have it, As I got back in my car, they light went off <engine> . I ran a few errands and the light is still off. Maybe the oil change did do some good??!!?? |
It will return. I'm wondering if your traction control light and ABS light are also going on.
