I got my HHR back today. All is good in the universe again. I'm glad I took the 8:30 appointment instead of the 2:00 one. who knows if I would be waiting till Monday for the part. I am very happy with the service I received form Muskogee.

Glad to hear you're up and running. Kudos to the dealer for such prompt service.

Lasts Forever?

I'm a little dismayed to find that dealerships don't stock common parts for these things. Rotors take a week when and if they can be found. Injectors, that are shared with many GM vehicles, are not stocked. Thinking they won't ever need maintenance is just wishful thinking and keeps people without their vehicles.

My engine light came on a couple of days ago and I took it in to the dealer here in the town where I work. This dealer and the dealer where I bought the car are affiliated and the service manager from where I bought the car was at this location. He hooked the scan tool up and said it wasn't showing an active code even while the check-engine light was still visible on the dash. He said there was a misfire code in history and about that time the check-engine light disappeared. He cleared it I guess, but he asked if I had ran the tank real low of gas. I said the low fuel message came on once about 600 miles ago and that was the only time it has been less that 1/4 tank. He then said that going around corners low on gas will cause it to misfire sometimes! That's when I got on-line and searched on here for "misfire" and found out about the injectors. Well now the light is back on, so I called and the same guy was out and whoever answers the phone in the shop when he's gone picked-up. I told him the problem and what was done yesterday and did he think the dealer here in the town I work could take care of it. He said he didn't know about that and would have to ask the service guy who was out. What does a 3yr-36000mi warranty really mean? Any GM dealer or just the one where you buy? Should the service department personnel know? Do I feel confident they know enough to test the fuel injectors as per service bullentin #08-06-04-001A and replace all four injectors and reprogram the ECM?

I'm not sure who you spoke to, but if he doesn't know service then you don't need his help. Was he a service employee?

Nobody but psychics can fix cars over the phone or on a forum. I can guess what your problem is all day long, but the truth will be found during the hands-on diagnostics.

Your 3/36 is good at ANY chevrolet dealership. You can always mention the TSB to the service advisor, but good techs know these or perform a search at the GM Service Information site, once codes are pulled and they know what to look for.
