Exhaust Flex Tube Crack Question

I have a 2007 2.2 with 98,000 miles, the flex tube on the exhaust is cracked. I purchased an Eastern CAT to replace it, however it only has only one oxygen sensor port (behind the CAT)--the OEM has 2 (in front/behind CAT). Does anyone know if I can run it without the one (front) oxygen sensor (and maybe this si why it is not for sale in CA)? I live in an area that doesn't have emission checks, so I'm more worried the car won't run right without it and I will get stuck trying something else and more $$$$.

Thanks, for all the help on this and other issues.

The Computer will be looking for referance values from that 02 sensor you don't want to use. You will definately have issues... you need em both. Also when it comes to flex pipes any GOOD muffler shop should be able to weld in new flex. Some of the cars with the flex pipe wear/breaking issue (never had to deal with HHRs though) are due to motor mounts going bad and the pipe vibrating and shifting enough to "break". If you take a soda can (or if it's the weekend a beer can) and bend it back and forth-eventually it will "break" in half. Of coarse sometimes rust also happens with the vibrating. Around me in NY at the local shop it costs $90 for most weld in flex pipe repairs.

Have another port welded on the replacement. Any muffler shop can do it and they would have the port.

Thanks guys, I'm not sure how they (Eastern) can claim it is a direct fit, but I guess I need to read the fine print next time--where it states only one port (oops). Also, next time I guess I will check the new part first before I pull the old one off. Thankfully, it came off really easy so it won't be to difficult to put it back on. I will take it to the muffler shop in town and hopefully they won't screw me to bad. Todd

Jackplug-make sure you check out all your motor/tranny mounts for play-you don't wanna mess up the new pipe.
