Give this thread a read before you head to the dealer, much cheaper and just as effective.

I bought the fle-pipe from Rockauto $45.00 freight included, had Midas install and welded $90.00 done in 45 minutes

If you're under 80K miles you could try the dealership. See my posts (#4 and #9) in that thread. The dealer I use has always been cooprerative with me but, as others in that thread state, many of them are not.

It's not like there are no threads on this forum on the subject. The search tool could aid in your search. Sorry, I worked a 20 hour (725 miles) day yesterday and went to work again this morning after 4 hours in the sack. |

Why would you not be able to find the part? You have internet access obviously, try ebay (search "HHR flex pipe") or any GM parts department (the entire pipe). The old fashioned fix is the entire catalytic converter assembly.

Flex part # 55gmn2253 from Rock-Auto $35.99 plus shipping as I just had this installed by Midas for $90.00

For some reason, the flex pipe for the manual is harder to find than the auto. I think the flex part is longer. But I can't see why the auto one wouldn't work. You can get the entire flex/cat assembly for under $200.

I got a quote for $500.00 from a dealer plus shipping so I bought just the flex pipe and am happy with results thats why I dont buy anything from stealing dealers, the parts dept people should be wearing a gun and mask as they are robbing you every time you buy parts from the dealers.

The difference between auto and standard is the before HO2 sensor is mounted on the manifold on the standard and on the pipe on the auto (at least the ones I've seen). I have no idea why they would say that the new flange would be specific to one or the other, in fact the welder has to do more work cutting and fitting to the auto pipe. I do note that there has been a flange/flex part on ebay that has the HO2 bung included on it.
