You'll want to do it. Apparently (and correct me if I'm wrong) but any HHR without side airbags does not meet the qualifications for some safety standards in a side impact collision. It's some sort of energy absorbing thing they install, so it will protect you better in an accident.

Mine has side airbags, so it was never needed...so I'm not 100% sure on all the details of it or anything.

Like I said, someone correct me if I'm wrong. But you'll want to get that done.

just get it done. takes about an hour and doesnt cost you a dime and can save your life.
