Floppy driverside sun visor.....

I am having issues with my driverside sunvisor. The darn thing won't stay up, it drops down when I hit a bump in the road and then it doesn't go all the way into the forward position when it is down. I have tried to tighten the screws that mount it to the roof, no help....I also looked at the extendable shaft to see if there was any adjustment on that to stiffen up this visor....and I found nothing. Can anyone offer me any help/suggestions with this? I have tried searching our local junkyards and no one even has an HHR in their inventory....so I can't even go that route to get a new one...I would have to try to get it off line somewhere if mine can't be fixed/tightened.....

Thanx so much for any help....Anita

Isn't it amazing at just how aggravating that sunvisor can be when it constantly flops...! I have tried using those velcro stickon strips and they work good until the weather turned hot, then the damn glue lets go...I have also tried using just a strip of velcro attached to the headliner and then onto the visor, and that didn't work either....I am about at my wits end with this thing....and I can't really afford to purchase a new one right now....and can't find one in the junkyard any closer than 100 miles or so of me.....

So hopefully one of you can figure something out and post it so those of us who are struggling with this can fix ours as well....

Thanx for the effort...! Anita

If my visor stays up for more than 4 hours....should I seek medical help for it right away? (teeheehee)

I am thinking about taking a heat gun to the little plastic cradle that the visor rests in and seeing if I can heat it up enough to squeeze it a little tighter on the visor rod.....that might help......I have tried wrapping tape around the visor rod and that did seem to help, but of course it didn't stay on.....

hopefull as a team, we'll be able to get this thing fixed.....or I may just take it off all together....cause it really does aggravate me!

Thanx again...Anita

I had one do that, luckily was still under 48k miles the certified warranty covered a new one.....it works great, might be the best way to fix it.
