My wife asks me to see if I can get either door on my truck open because she hasn't been able to take the recycling back for a week since they're frozen shut. Then she wants to to put vaseline on the weather strips. I did that years ago, and wan't impressed. Then for some reason, a light bulb goes off as I'm cleaning up in the basement and I find this jug of "ice-melting" Prestone washer fluid with about 1/3 left. I poured some in an old cleaner spray bottle. I sprayed it around the door seems and it opened right up! :eek:

I did around the windows and they opened right up. I wish I'd thought of that 30 years ago. I did spray some food-grade silicone spray on the seals too for good measure.

I almost ran to get the camera to show off my "invention." :lol:

Just chinin in... had the same thing happen to mine, also on drivers side, only

hi....i just got my hhr today it a 2009 and im having same problem with the icing on the drivers side window. Also with my electri start .....works sometimes and others it wont. Have any ideas....
