No i am not the original owner. I bought this in March of this year. It is an LT with 152755 miles. I dont think he erased the codes. Sometimes my thermostat gauge does not work, most of the time it does.

If you can erase the codes it would help.
You might have old codes that were a problem when you didn't own the car and they were repaired.

The idiot that said ECM didn't know what P0700 means. Those codes indicate a fault on the CAN bus; a bad wire on the computer network.

I would bet there is a broken wire or connector, probably on the TCM.
Replace the t-stat with a ACDelco 131-158 ONLY to fix P0128.

This shows the codes, but where’s the report printout of the battery voltage and CCA’s .
I’ve been in the short end of one of those guys telling me the battery was fine, it died two days later while on vacation in Florida, and he said the cars only four years old , don’t worry about it!

Replace the thermostat yourself, as Donbrew says only use an AC Delco 131-158 180 degree thermostat

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...l-p0128-24493/

and burp the coolant system

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...-system-60614/

and the ground wires are down to the right of the oil filter on the transmission case then check the TCM it is under the plastic shield just near the fuse box with the blue terminal connector

I read somewhere on here about oil migrating up the wires from the engine area into the TCM plug. When my 07 starting acting like you described I pulled the plugs from the computers under the darth vader cap it sure enough had oil in one of the plugs. I cleaned it out numerous times with alcohol and compressed air. It has not reoccured since and I have taken two long trips in it since then. Maybe a cheap easy fix for you too.

As crazy as this might seem. My HHR was doing the same thing. And I removed the fuse cover in the passenger floor board and it went back to running normal
