Has anyone had the lock out in the gears while no lift shifting?

I had a race the other night with an 09 GXP from a 30 roll, we were side by side until i had to shift to 4th gear (100mph) and it would lock me out. I have to let off completely to shift to 4th. Why is this and is there a fix?
