Glitchy right turn signal

I have searched the archives for discussion on this subject but nothing turns up.

The problem is when I push the turn signal stalk upward to make a right turn, the turn signal blinks three times and just stops ( the stalk does not flip down, it stays in the upward position). If I physically push the stalk upward (tight) and physically hold it there, it will start blinking again. When correcting the turn, the stalk will self correct and cancel properly.
- the left turn signal is operating normally and properly
- all turn signal exterior lights are lit when activated
- right turn signal will continue to blink while sitting in the driveway. It only acts up when I am physically making a right turn.

Any ideas from this learned group?

Thanks all. Just ordered a new stalk/switch today for under $20. Watched Tubed video. Stealership wanted "about $200" to fix it. Most people could change this out in under 15 minutes. Me? More like an hour but that's okay, I got this covered.
