Major Guard. We drive our (GM) cars into the ground, last car had 209000 miles on it and used GMPP to fix many issue not covered after the warranty was over. I would say it paid for it self and then some. Currently have on the HHR since I put about 25000 a year. We also have it on our Chevy Ventura which has 85000 covered until 100000 miles. Had many repairs on the ventura.

Major guard here. I am expecting somewhere between 70 and 80k by the end of year one... I felt it was worth it....

I think the major guard is the way to go. I have have had this extended warranty before on my 01 Lumina and it saved me quite a lot of cash. But that is just my opinion.

I'm in Canada and have what is called "Total Plus" which I believe is the equivelent of Major Guard.

Is it worth it? Tonight I was in getting the oil changed in my Malibu. I was notified that oil is starting to leak from the back of the engine. They put dye in the oil so they can put it under the blacklight next week to see how badly it's leaking. That's gonna cost a few bucks to fix, but since I have the extended warranty, it'll cost me $0.00.

Considering that I paid about $1800.00 for the warranty, between the engine repair and the A/C controller that needs to be replaced, I probably won't completely recoup the money I paid for it, but considering that I do not have the money to pay for either of the repairs, it is worth it in the end.

When I get my 07 HHR in a few months, I will be getting the extended warranty that covers everything but the powertrain.

I had a 1990 S-10 Blazer 2DR and that car last 228000 miles never rebuilding the engine. great car but it ate lower ball joints for breakfast. At the time I didnt have the coverage so it was all out of pocket. This time I woke up and as soon as that coverage came in the mail i jumped on it and got it. I hope I'll never have to use it but we'll never know. I think it's a good idea to get the extra coverage
