Angry Greasy Headliner

Took my car in last week for some warranty repairs at the dealer. Dome light and the OnStar quit working. They called today and said it was ready. Onstar and dome light are working now, but the headliner was all greased up from front to back. Went back in and told the service manager that I couldn't accept the car in that shape. Said he would have it cleaned, but I just don't see all that stuff coming off. I want it back to like new. Am I asking to much?? Think I can make them put in a new liner if they can't get it cleaned up?? Its an 08 with only 10k on the clock.

Others here have posted same greasy hand prints on headliner..

I agree with you, I would want it as it was, before they greased it..

Hope it works out for you..

& it shouldn't matter even if it was a 1958, that still is un-acceptable...

Yeah I'm sure a box of latex gloves don't cost that much. Had to tie the wifey to the seat, she wanted to go let'em have it, but I talked her into giving them a chance. If that don't work I'm going to untie the bulldog.

Hope they do right by you..
Seems to me grease is gonna be a tough thing to get out of the headliner material..

Update. Got the call today. I was really surprised that stuff came out. Service manager apologized and I'm satisfied with the job.

Your lucky, most shops charge extra for lube jobs.

But seriously I am glad it worked out.

That's why I was nervous for taking mine in Monday...the headliner was rattling, but it was so annoying in one day of driving, I couldn't take it to Florida like that.... I figured it was worth the prints. Best part, they didn't get any on it! I was happy!

I'm very glad my wife's not goin ballistic. Kinda got my doubts about them doing any more service. They are a Caddy dealer too. Wonder if they treat the high end rides that way??

I've been asking every HHR owner I run into about their problems, if any. Most with a sunroof mention the noisy roof. They had mine completely out and its quiet so far.
