Cool Haunted HHR

I think my 09 may be haunted. A couple of weeks ago while driving the door locks began engaging by themselves- just started clicking on and off several times then stopped. A few nights later I happened to be walking through my house and thru the window I saw the the car lights flashing on and off- the same way it looks when the alarm goes off but tge horn was not sounding. Then the lights went off. A few seconds later they came back on but were not flashing, just stayed on for about 10 seconds, then went off. This has happened a few more times but seems to be getting worse. Twice tonight. I can also tell that the interior light is coming on when the lights are on and then it fades out as normal. Any ideas... Other than the supernatural kind?

Welcome to the site.

A shorted out key fob maybe ? Pull the batteries from the fobs and see if the "haunting" stops.

Have you looked into a "Drive Through "exorcism" I heard they have a 5 min drive through at every GM dealership.

Thanks so much for the responses. So far the key fob advice has been spot on I removed the battery yesterday morning and no creepy activity since. I hope this really was the problem. I was expecting it to be something much more complicated. If this doesn't pan out, maybe I'll try the drive thru exorcism but I can't imagine anything at my GM dealership only taking 5 mins. My daughter wants me to change the name of my HHR from Betsy to Boo

Sounds like the keypad on your fob may have disintegrated. New keypads or keypad/Case combos are available on eBay for real cheap, maybe even at your local auto parts store.

I got two key pads and cases for $4.99 last fall off EBay, make sure the GM number on the fob matches what you order

I like the options of colors they offer too. Makes grabbing the right set of keys much easier.
