Good rule of thumb is never grind a rotor more than once. More than that and you're thinning the rotor so much that it's going to warp a lot faster.

06, 25K miles. The rotors on my car were slightly warped probably as early as 5K or so but didn't get annoying enough to take in until 18K. The dealer turned them and at 25K they're still smooth.

I have almost 29K miles on my HHR. Rotor warping problems come and go and have been doing so for almost the whole time I have owned it (bought it new). It's only mildly warping, so I'm not going to bother with the dealer. As soon as the pads are worn out, I am getting the EBC red pads and EBC slotted rotors. I voted "gave up and bought aftermarket rotors" even though I haven't done it yet but that was the category that fit best for me.

An '06, bought new with no brake issues at all after 28,000+ miles. I suspect that people are using heavy footed braking that will overheat the rotors and will warp them. My 72 Vega seemed to have warped rotor issues, and my 99 Buick after 60K miles. Resurfacing them did not help much, so I replaced with "good" quality rotors.

My 06 has 21000 miles on it and to be honest it is one of the smoothest braking cars I have ever owned.

Problems at 25,000 then 35,000. Rotors turned twice. Now wearing EBC's rotors and EBC's red stuff pads.
