Head light problem

Head light problem

When I unlock my car (2008), my lights both burn. But, when I start it, my right side light goes out. Where do I start, any suggestions?

Right side bulb has a burned out filament. Replace the bulb.

(if you turn on the hi beams, I bet that both will work )

I'll try that tomorrow. I hope it works. It just fooled me when the light comes on when I unlock it, but is out when I start the motor. Thanks!

Basic headlight diagnostics: whenever having problems with a single headlight the first step is to check and replace the offending bulb.

Many believe - if one bulb burns out, replace the bulbs in both headlights. Because the new bulb is less worn, and it kills the old lamp. A couple of times I've had it, since the time I do so always. Replacing bulbs on HHR - not the easiest thing, why go back to it twice.

when you arm / disarm or unlock, the HIGH beam lites up, not the low beam.

am I remembering correctly, that although it's the high beam, it's not at full brightness?
