headlight adjustment screw inoperative

On a 2011, the drivers side plastic headlight adjustment screw does nothing, clockwise or ccw
Anyone have any pictures or detailed description of the mechanism for raising or lowering the aim?
Hate to remove the bumper just to investigate without a fix on hand.

Could be a stripped adjuster screw

That's the most logical suspicion.
I think I'll pull the inner fender off and see if I can gain access to the adjusting setup that way.
I ordered a bag of plastic push pins from Amazon to reinstall the inner fender.

ugh - i had a feeling this is the issue with my hhr - rightheadlight is totally messed up but turns out BOTH sides have ruined/stripped adjustment screws... even made a mark to make sure they were turning - neither side does anything when i turned up or down.

A new set of headlights will fix that! Lots on the Internet OEM chrome or black Depo style.

brilliant design/quality... i prefer headlights that only need fixing when the light itself fails - - - thanks for the info

Thanks for the pic.
I PMd hellshotrod a few months ago about the nut location but never got a response.
Hate to have to take the bumper cover off, but I guess I'll have to
Probably going to try to repair it somehow with a new nut of some type.

I bought A set of aftermarket headlamps cheat and the driver side adjuster never worked. Have heard of others with the same problem. I think there is a bad batch of driver side headlamps assemblies out there.
