You'll have to check on the specific laws in your state as they vary. But, in most cases, you'll have to have taken a vehicle back to the dealership for the same issue a certain number of times and/or have been without use of the vehicle for a specified number of days. I know that in TN, you would be out of luck having bought the vehicle used.

This was a common problem with 06's. Try a search here for "radio pops"

As GDZHHR stated, there is a TSB for this problem. It USUALLY corrects it, IF your dealer has done the necessary correction exactly as outlined in the TSB.

If that does not correct it, it may need a amp change....that is what corrected mine.

I think if you have a large woofer in the rear cargo area, that might confirm you have the optional PIONEER radio.

Ok had to look up my Service Order......

To provide quick info, it says....

Misc. customer concern radio pops and has occassional no sound display o.k. S.O. came in install

part # 25924113 Amplifier

electrical test found internal short in amp 0.90 replaced amp

Of course, there was no charge, since my 2006 LT is still under warranty.

I'm told the Pioneer 260 watt radio is a component system. You may wish to advise your dealer technician of this. If they still doubt the separate amp info, tell them to run the part number and see what vehicles it adapts to.

Hope it helps.
