Lightbulb HHR in General, but looking at an SS.

Looking at a 2010 HHR SS Victory Red Auto with 66,xxx miles on it. It has a MN Cert of Title-Salvage, and looks to be in ship shape, other than the inside roof airbag has blown.

My question after the background here, is, Does the Airbag Light, cause a CEL to also be illuminated on the dash? (Picture Attached)

Now, I know buying from a Salvage Auction, even with it saying normal wear and tear, it could have more wrong.

No, but it should be easy to get a reading. Does it light when the engine is running?
Problem is you can't just replace the bag, there are other one time parts. SDM (+programming), rollover sensor, yaw sensor etc. You can save $1000 doing it yourself, except for the programming.

You know DonBrew, I am not sure. I am here in MI, and the SS is in MN. This image was taken from the Salvage Auction page for the vehicle. The current price on the pure sale is $250. That's the only reason I am even looking at it. Replacement bags are $225 for the pair.

The pictures on the Auction page don't really reveal a whole lot about possible cause for the roof airbag being blown.

Am I permitted to share a link for reference?

That price for airbags is a lot less than the ones I got at a good price 8 years ago. Should not get used bags.
Like I said you HAVE to replace other parts and program them. Been there, done it. The total price might be the cause of the salvage.

Depending on how your state does salvage titles it sounds like pretty good deal. Heck, a brand new engine is under $3000, I don't see ant body damage. Side curtains can deploy just because the car slides sideways or gets tilted.
When mine deployed the insurance company gave me around $5000

ya but look at the ss why did the side bags blow , i don't see a reason as i thought of bidding on it as I'm bidding on the sacto one lol , but good luck bags are a easy fix , send the mod to my air bag for a reset , so u don't have to flash a new one , u will have too do the belts also as they are locked up , but thats also easy , and just bought one out of vegas

Would sliding sideways into a curb deploy side airbags? One of those wheels is pretty tore up... Could be suspension damage as well.
