HHR Oil dipstick tube o-ring
Hello everyone first post here I recently was given an hhr for my 18th birthday been driving it for about a year and it had a bad oil leak took it to the shop and they said it needed a new oil pan and gasket and said the repair was gonna be high so I decided to attempt it myself since I’m in college for mechanics practice makes perfect well everything’s done ultra black permatex pan is sealed I litterally cannot get an o ring to fit called Gm parts they said it doesn’t exist anymore had a hassle getting the dimensions finally got the part number and went to orielleys and they wanted 80 some dollars for an oring I’m at my wits end with this one and honestly I’m going insane I don’t know what to do anymore which has lead me here any tips would be greatly appreciated
I’m thinking you’re gonna be just fine looking after your own car here’s the oring from RockAuto

Notice the GM part number , possibly the counter guy wasn’t looking in the right place!
I’ve seen people clean the surfaces and slather that black sealant on the tube and shove it into place, that method doesn’t last very long.
