By BPV you mean bypass valve right? I am not a super car guru. I can follow a conversation and instructions but do not pretend that I know how they all work. But I am willing to do research and learn and I learn more and more every day.

bobiroc-

For what it's worth man, the dealership just called me and said, per my recommendation, that they installed the original part that was removed (which I brought back into the service department) during the stage 1 kit upgrade installment and they "re-installed, re-flashed, and re-programmed" the vehicle to it's original SS factory settings and it ran "smooth as could be". So, they've isolated it to the Bosche kit and expect one in Weds. I'll let you know how it goes....I definitely can sympathize with losing that "rocket" feeling, it sucks. Keepin' my fingers crossed for the both of us.
easy.

Well so far with this little device I have had a few instances of the surging but not any real severe ones. I think it is because the weather is warming up as it seemed to happen more when it was cold and I had the heat blasting.

However a new problem has developed where occasionally when I remote start my car (and I usually do) it will cut off prematurely. It usually runs for 10 mins and then shuts off and you have the option of starting it again. Well this cuts out after like a minute or two just as the engine is idling and quieting down and I cannot use the remote start to start the car again.

I am not sure if this is related to my other problems or if it is because I have that device plugged into my diagnostic port or what.

Anyone know if the remote start cuts out prematurely would it throw any codes in the computer?

I need something to help me here because my HHR is not right but the dealer can never duplicate any problem.

Well on April 7th the Little Data recorder did it's job and when I was driving onto the expressway the car bogged down and the data recorder went off by itself twice in one day. I brought the car in immediately on April 8th and they have had it ever since. At least now they cannot tell me they cannot recreate the problem because even if they cannot the data recorder device showed there is a problem.

Here's to hopin' they can fix my car but it has been almost a week and I am starting to get worried as I have had no call from service other that to say they are still looking for the source of the problem.

I still suspect the problem to be electrical but I guess I will find out.

Well it took them a week and I got the car back and while it seems better I do not think the problem is fully resolved yet. They said they found a hairline crack in the IC piping and said it looked like it was from hitting curbs based off a few little scrapes under my front air dam.

The first couple days I was excited because it seemed much better but now it is back to the slight surging once in a while. Power seems to be a bit decreased and I have noticed that my boost gauge sometimes has a little bounce in the needle. I was sitting (in Park) at an ATM yesterday and while there I saw it hop up and down from 20 - 10 in the Vacuum range. That does not seem normal to me. I have also noticed the same behavior when stopped at stop lights and while driving it will give a little jolt once in a while hence the surging description.

I am really running out of patience with this and may have to give Rockenbach another shot at it because 3 other dealerships close to me have failed to solve the problem. I only brought it to Rockenbach once where they have the Crate Engine Depot performance shop and that is where I had my Stage kit installed.

If they cannot fix it I do not know what to do but I am not very happy right now especially since it was implied that I caused damage to my car to cause the issue which is clearly not true. I am a very safe driver and take very good care of my cars.

yeah the bypass valve. undo the 3 screws and take it out. Watch out for the spring cus it will pop out as well. Inspect the rubber piece that seals everything for cracks

Well it is back at the shop again after only having it back a week with the same symptoms. This time the CEL came on and I had OnStar run a remote diagnostic and they said it was a problem with the air intake control system. This is probably the last chance I am going to give them to fix this thing before I seriously think about acting on the IL lemon law. According the my service sheets and excluding oil changes it has been in the shop 12 times in less than 3 years and 9 of those times were for performance issues and turbo related issues.

Well now they say it is a Temperature MAP sensor and they are going to replace that.

Somehow I am not optimistic that this will be a solution to the issues that have plagued me with this car for quite some time.
