Hole in gas tank
Hole in gas tank
Hi, need help to fix a hole in my gas tank. Few nights ago someone drilled a hole in the tank in order to steal the gas. Do you have any suggestion on how to fix it or where to find a used replacement tank? Thanks in advance!
Long term you'll want to get a replacement tank. But back in the in the day when I was a teen and money was scarce we used Bondo to repair a leak in the tank. It held up real well should work for you in a pinch to keep gas in it.
PM Hellshotrod. He more than likely has a tank.

the thief was not looking for an easy way ...
Instead of dismantling or cutting one of the hoses, drill a tank. How silly ...
To repair a hole: I would use a suitable bolt and nut, as well as a pair of wide washers and rubber gaskets. If you use oil-resistant rubber (for example, cut gaskets from an old fuel hose), then the bolt can plug the hole for ages.
The negative side of such a repair is that you need to dismantle the tank. But there is a positive aspect - a hole in the tank, this is a good reason to organize a drainage hole (of course, if the hole is in the bottom)

Thank you guys for the suggestions, the problem is that....my car is in Europe. This model was not imported there, therefore no junk yard would have a used tank. I'll try some of the fixes you guys have suggested. Thanks again!
