Yeah, mine works some of the time and other times sounds like it is getting warmed up, or like one tone is working and the other one comes in later.

One of the many, many problems I have had with this car bought new and owned for less than a year.

Last GM I will ever purchase...

 

If the horn is broke, use finger.

 

Water intrusion will make a horn tone sound different. It's a warranty item if it is the horn. Or maybe it was that corvette mod to the airbag module you did a while back, but doubtful that could have changed the tone..

 

I agree it sounds like water intrusion.

But it did it from day one. Definitely not the horn button mod. Actually, it sounded like it was missing half the tone and eventually the other tone would join the party. It has gotten a little better and I don't use the horn that often :)

Interestingly our new Chevy full size 4x4 company truck does exactly the same thing, though it is a 2006 and my HHR is a 2008.

And yeah, the warranty would take care of it, but I am getting tired of visiting the dealer...

 

THE ONLY TIME I USE MY HORN IS WHEN I SEE A GOOD LOOKING WOMAN ON THE SIDE WALK OR IN THE PARKING LOT, I THOUGHT THATS WHAT THEY WERE MADE FOR LOL
