Ice in doorwell

Ive got a 2006 lt and the last few days when ive opened the door ice is sitting in the front bottom of the door well. It makes an awful sound, and im afraid of the ice ruining the paint on the front bottom of the door. Has anyone else have this happen? and how do you stop it? Thanks Denny

Park in a heated garage or get use to it. Sounds awful and you hope to god the corner of your door is not going to bend.

yeah some people's have bent, open it carefully and take an ice scrapper and chip it off. Or you will end up bending your door.

Happened to m a couple days ago.

Snow melting at the air intake then re-freezing on the door post.

I've put a post up here a few days ago about "windshield covers" to keep the snow out and avoid the refreezing. There will be many more posts about ice.

Is this with or without running boards?

Not a factor. It will do it with the running boards, the side skirts, or without either.

Happens every day to me in the winter..just keep prying er open while under warranty. If it bends or breaks off take a picture and send it in to fix.....design flaw as there should have been a drainage area engineered.
