Unhappy idle issue

My 2006 HHR with 214,000 miles runs great until I am slowing down for a stop and even at the stop and occasionally will get bad enough to stall the vehicle. Once stopped it will take a few seconds and correct its idle. During regular driving and acceleration, it has no problem with the idle. Could the be the cause of bad fuel injectors?

Could have some crud built up on the throttle blade.

Cleaning the throttle body might fix it. Other thing to consider is the transmission not disengaging the torque converter clutch. Also look at the serpentine belt and the stuff it drives.

when was your timing chain done ? Sometimes when the chain stretch it will throw the timing off and maybe get a check engine light .. or clean the throttle body and mass flow sensor and see what happens...

Double check the timing chain is the tensioner engaged? It has been seen where the front guide top bolt breaks!

What would be the easiest way to check the tensioner.

Take the cam cover off, if your human senses can sense it is loose.
