Ignition transponder and receiver question

I bought a 2006 HHR and they had lost the keys. The steering was locked so I had to remove the cylinder using the screwdriver method so I could turn the switch to release the wheels. That worked out fine.
Now I have to replace the cylinder and key. I found a unit on Ebay the has the key, cylinder, transponder receiver etc all together.
My question is, if I use these parts will they pair with the rest of the cars ignition system and work or will I have to have a dealer pair them?
Thanks

Did you ever thimnk of going to a GM parts department and asking for a key cut to your VIN? Or checking the recall status and getting it done for free if it was outstanding?

Is there any assurance that your junkyard part is the recall part? How about the door lock?

The key matches to the TDM not to anything in the car, so should not need anything more.

Yes, but I had to move the car from the sellers property to mine. The wheels were locked to the side. I will check on recalls, thanks and I appreciate your response.
