Key Fob Replacement

Hey everyone,

I didn’t realize my 2011 Chevy HHR should have come with a key fob when I bought it from a used car lot. Is there a way to buy a replacement for my car?

Look in the tubs in the back behind the rear seats , sometimes they are left in there or in the glove box or the cubby on top of the dashboard, if not there,
There are Several ways to obtain a fob, order from your GM dealership, then have them program it to your HHR. Expensive method!
Then there’s the Dorman kit with a program module for the fob that comes with it, and you can program up to 3 devises, so if you order 2 OEM GM fobs you can program them, question is do you need 3 button or 4 button fobs? Do you have remote start, check in the DIC , look at the hood latch for a wire harness. Was your 2011 a rental car , then for sure it won’t have RVS

2011 RVS was not standard equipment.
Lock + Panic = RVS, so the extra button is nor "required", except on Chinese fobs. I recommend Genuine GM fobs.

the previous rental thing is not 100%, I have an ex-rental, and it -does- have RS

you can PM me the last 8 of your VIN and I can look up your OEM# for you tomorrow at work

I suggest getting the 4-button fob even if you don’t have remote start. The fourth button won’t hurt anything, and might be useful for another car some day. Or even more buttons, on the same principle.

All Genuine GM fob circuit boards (guts) have the fourth button contacts.
