Key Ignition

The key isn't supposed to come out if the car is On or if the gear is in anything other than park, right?
Because mine doesn't. It comes off at anytime when I pull it out.
What can be the problem?
P.S, (recall hasn't been done)

The key is not supposed to come out unless the ignition switch is in the off position.

That was the very first recall on 2006s, not even related to the newest recall.

I doubt you’ll find a GM dealership in your country that will preform the recall work, all these years later.

You might find the pieces to replace in the recall.

The danger is that you can also move the gear selector out of park without the key and brake interlocks; meaning a dog or child can pull it out of park and drift away.

I honestly left the car to warm up one day before dropping someone out, and when it was time I didn't even notice the key wasn't there until I dropped the guy and returned to my house - I couldn't turn it off and then I knew I'd left it.
It was a good 20km drive.
