I cant remove my key from the ignition unless I move my shifter forward some, while it is in P. Anyone had this problem ?

 

I had it on my 06 HHR, turned out a piece of linkage had come undone on the shifter assembly. GM fixed it under warranty.

 

mine was an interlock that was sticking. after a couple of times making SURE that it was in park, it stopped doing that.

 

There is a recall on my 09 that I haven't had done yet. Something about making the indicator on the shhift lever shows the proper position. Might be worth checking into, but I don't know how many model years it involves.

 

This has been a on going thing with THE HHR and key sticking from the start.
