Jumped it wrong ?
Checked the fuses, relays ?
Hard to say until you check some of the electrical stuff. Sorry, there is no 1 definite answer as to what's wrong.

I guess it is as likely that all 4 elements blew out as all 4 fuses or both relays went bad at the same time. What about DRL?

A 2008 has the jump starting directions printed on the fuse box cover; did you follow them?

Did you try to turn them on with the switch?

If you jumped it wrong, then I assume you hooked the jump box negative cable to the PS positive wire. When you straight ground a power source like that, there's no telling what got blown, fried or melted before the "big" fuse blew.
You'll need to check all the fuses and relays (both fuse centers). Then hope nothing else got damaged.
Good Luck.

I wonder how many HHR owners have never read their Owners Manual on how to properly Jump or use the correct Procedure sequence for removing and replacing the battery cables.
This OP may be about to find out the Consequences.
I think too many are still thinking in the 1950-1970 mode.......
Now days that mode is Proceed With Caution on anything electrical.
