Thumbs down Lemon?

What a joke. Seems our 2007 HHR with only 35K miles is falling apart now that it is out of warranty.

Under warranty we had steering motor replaced, both front sway bar links, wheel bearing, fuel injectors and rail, along with a few other parts.

Now out of warranty, it sits in a private shop waiting for more parts. Front bushings on A arms, Evap vent solenoid and anti sway solenoid?

The wind screen arm bracket is broken, had to remove the cloth screen and now it won't close up tight. (Waiting for replies to my post under that subject) Tires are already worn out, the info center always saying freeze conditions even with warm weather and get this, Have to wait until the interior warms up to at least 50 degrees before the radio will come on. Also experiencing lighting problems as while driving the dash lights flicker.

Soon to be traded off. I hate to get rid of it as I love it's looks but the mechanics of it are the pits.

Yep, I'd recommend trading it in or driving it off a cliff. Cars are like people...they aren't perfect. Sucks though that your wagon has ha so many issues.

Hmm Two post.

Where were you the first 35,000 miles?

If you were here sooner you may have not had as many issues.

Sounds like you simply got a bad one. It happens with any type of vehicle. We bought ours new in the end of 2005. If we had had all of those problems druing the warranty period, we would have sold it about four years ago while it still might have been worth something.

This is very true. One goes bad at 35,000 miles while others literally get hundreds of thousands of miles out of them.

Case in point is deliveryman, who is one of our members. He just turned 300,000 miles last month.

35k in 5 years makes it sound like it's stored.... alot. Do you use fuel stabilizers? Not driving a car can take as much of a toll as driving it can. Thing dry out, rot etc. It stands to reason that a bushing that rarely flexes will stiffen and then crack later on.

For tires to go bad in that short of time, suggests inflation may have been ignored and perhaps lack of care, such as pot holes and hitting curbs to throw things out of kilter. Was the steering wheel straight when you drove it? Even on a new car you cannot expect these things to be to specs. Tire rotation is a must. Even lower end tires if properly taken care of will go 50 to 60 thousand. Checking inflation on a regular basis if a must.

My mother inlaw bought a 06 Impala 2LT new. It has 34k on it. It has had a lot of issues. It is my opinion, that by not driving it, has caused many of the problems. It sits for weeks, and even months. So far it has had more than it's share of replacement gaskets, seals and a water pump.
Your electrical sound like a bad ground, maybe a rodent did some bad stuff.
Mine is the same age, and has some minor issues, but it also has 88k on it.
My coworker has a newer toyota, and it has been in the shop three times for a couple issues. So it is not just American cars. While at Nissan, I seen my fair share of lemons, and common issues.
