Does anyone know how the lights on the steering wheel buttons get their power. Mine have started going on and off while driving, can't make them do it sitting still. I wasn't sure if they went through the clock spring or if it had a brush and wiper ring.

That's what I was afraid of, it's never an easy thing for me.

 

What is difficult about the clockspring? Disconnect the negative battery cable 20 minutes before you start work to let the airbag system disarm.

 

I know, just hoping a loose ground wire or some other simple fix.
