Location of Camshaft sensor?

My friend has a P0340 code and wants to know how to tell which camshaft sensor it is.
Any hints would be nice.

Before they start throwing parts at it they should checkt the wires and connections.

The code is saying the camshaft position sensor isn't giving the expected reading. It could be a sensor or wiring but it is most often a camshaft position actuator solenoid valve not working properly. The camshaft position sensor is not too expensive and quick and easy to change. The solenoids are more expensive and slightly more difficult to replace. They are under the air cleaner and in an area that mice sometimes like to build nests so it might be worthwhile to check to see if the wiring has been chewed. If they need to be replaced, it is best to replace both.

Takes longer to remove the air filter than change both solenoid valves.....

So far it seems ok.

Friend at a auto store let me try new camshaft sensor. Engine quit bucking immediately. Seems to be fixed.
