Lola Back From Shop
Lola Back From Shop
Ok so I got Lola out of the body shop and she looks good. But on the window and side mirror of the door they painted has like this cloudy film on it. Not only can you just see it but the glass even feels different. Anyone know anything about that or what??
Sounds like "overspray" of the clear coat. Clear coat is the icing on the cake....... makes the base coat all shiny and pretty. Or maybe they have come up with a "protecting" spray that takes the place of tape. Have you tried to "gently" scratch it off with your finger nail. Or maybe the guys have a built in reason for you to come back and see them!
Could also be a spray protectant used in some shops now. When I had my hood repaired, they taped and papered around the area to be prepped and painted. The rest of the vehicle is sprayed with this protectant to prevent overspray. The guy who repaired mine explained it to me and told me I may find some of this left around the car even though they washed it. He said I could wash it off myself or bring it back and they would clean it off. I found a small amount on the passenger rear door, but it came off with a little elbow grease when I washed the car.
