Low battery on key FOB
After ~7 years of ownership, this messaged popped up on my DIC. I have two key FOBs one died years ago. I just bought a new battery and all is well. I was just surprised at seeing this message.
I looked into the other key FOB, and discovered that the bracket that holds the battery in place was broken.. But the key works, but no auto locking or door opening. |
7 years is a while... I've already replaced both of mine

wow 7 years
I've had both fobs replaced. Both battery holders were broken. 1 of the replacements has already failed same reason and I suspect the same with the second.

Check Ebay, you can use the fob case with the 5th button marked "trunk" it just doesn't do anything, they are easier to find and I know they work from experience. |
programming?
do the new key fobs need to be programmed to work? I replaced the battery in my fob a while back. the panic button works but that's it. Will not lock or un-lock.

See the previous post. |
I noticed that the remote start no longer works. :( I rarely used it, but I'm cruising upstate NY and it is in the 30s..
