Yes, I've got one. GM # 88891787 magnetic oil drain plug. List $3.51

No doubt. There no way it'd be able to catch aluminum casting flash that didn't get cleaned out prior to assembly. That why we have oil filters.

Tried one out from 33,000 miles to 39,000 miles in my SS, and the magnet had a slight amount of gray material on the magnet about enough to cover half a q-tip swab. Consistancy of toothpaste, or perhaps more appropriately lapping compound. Just as soon not have that circulating.

If you have Auto Zones in that part of the country, they have an entire display of oil pan bolts.....many with magnets on the end.

Recently bought one for my G/daughters 2005 Impala. About $5.00.
