My Car Died Friday

I was on my way to work Friday. I was stopped in traffic, I went to move and my engine had stopped. Tried to restart and nothing. Made it to side of the road tried again, It started and died again. The shop said the Ac Compresor locked up and wouldn't allow the engine to run.

Something similar happened to someone else on the Forum a week or so ago!
Wonder if we're going to start having different problems now with the A/C, other than the noise many seem to be experiencing?? And could the two problems be connected?

This is why Id like to have an "unscientific" research of the miles and manufatured date to see if there is any connection.

Any update on this? Do they still have the car? Enquiring minds always wonder what's happening. Hope everything is back to normal real soon.

My 2006 HHR also got the problem with the AC compressor last Friday at 50000 miles, the engine died and just starts and stops, the workshop saying it was the AC compressor and costs more a $ 1000, luckily I have insurance for that.

Sorry to hear you're having AC problems.

But, wow! You may hold the record for bringing up a "dead" thread that is almost 7 years old.
