So I have a 2008 Chevorlet HHR and really do love the car, but my power steering keeps going out. I can turn on the car and it will work for thirty seconds or the other day is lasted a full 2 hour drive. I understand that its electric power steering, but does anyone know if this is a fuse problem or what?

My first thought would be to check the TSB's here. I think there might be something for power steering failure.

 

You say a 2008. Are you still under warranty?

Don't think, with the intermittant use, it would be a fuse problem. Sounds more like wiring OR the electric motor itself.

Might need a visit to the dealer.
