my transmision feels funny at 51,000

Yesterday I was driving home from work and I felt a pulsing feel in my tranny while I was driving along at about 45-50mph. I also felt it again this morning on the way to work. Any ideas on what it could be and am I in for a hell-ride with the dealership on trying to fix this? They already want to charge me for labor to look for any problems.

thanks,
Ashton

It's covered by power train so there is no charge if it's a defect. They may make you sign for diagnosis to cover the check out time in case it's not warranty. Non warranty would be physical impact damage or water in the transmission from driving into deep water. If it is determined to be covered by power train there would be no charges to you.

It could be the traction control, does the TC light come on?

Could be torque converter shutter. Next time it does it, tip into the throttle a bit and see if it goes away and then comes back when you bring the throttle back to cruise.

Beyond that, take it to the dealer and let them fix it.

no and my model doesn't have that, or at least I've never noticed it.

Thanks. If it does it again I will try that. I plan on taking it in anyway this week for it's first routine flushing. I will mention that this is happening when I take it in.

Unless you tow with the car, it shouldn't need the trans fluid changed, at least not at 50K miles.

Does it pulse just once or multiple times?

I'm just following the suggestions in the manual.

It can pulse once, or it can pulse maybe 2-3 times. Usually once it happens, it won't repeat itself for a little while... maybe even up to a day or two.
