mysterious switch
I recently bought my first HHR, 2008 LS, and on the center console on the passenger side down by the floor is a little black rocker switch
, I can't find any info on it and I don't know what it is for. It makes a click sound by the steering column when flipped, but I can't tell what it is doing! any ideas?

Welcome!
What do you mean "Sport" There are LS, LT, & SS.
Fog lamps? Did you look in the Owner Manual? There is a link in my sig.
On the waterfall or on the side. If it is on the side near the carpet where the driver cannot easily reach, then somebody added something.

Welcome to the site.
I wonder if that switch was added by the previous owner for "towing mode". Check to see if that switch is connected to the #8 fuse. That's the fuse that you pull out to dolly tow the vehicle.

It is an LS and of course I checked all thru the owners manual AND called the dealer to no avail, hence my statement that I can't find any info on it and that's why I was hoping someone may have experienced this before so I joined this forum. Thank you Firemangeorge, that's the most useful suggestion I've received yet. Now I've noticed that it was a towed vehicle cuz I found a tow-bar attached to the front frame that I didn't notice when I bought it, I flipped the switch and all I can tell is a click sound under the dash by the steering column, no other lights or noticeable effects, I can't tell if it is off or on! Thanks again!
You're welcome.
So just curious. Is that switch hooked to the #8 fuse ? If so, I would just disconnect it if you're not planning on towing the vehicle.
Fwiw. I think if that switch is hooked up there, that the vehicle will not run with the switch turned on.(or off. Depending on how you look at it.
)
Guess it would depend on the type switch and how it's wired up.
