Hi to everyone-so happy to find a site with other HHR owners! I really am happy with my 2007 HHR-has been problem free untill a couple of problems a few weeks ago and am looking for some in-put and maybe help. I purchased the HHR in Nov. 2009 from my son, who bought it new.

I am looking for driver interior door handle assembly. Anyone know where I can get one? Chevy has quit making them-you have to order the whole door panel. Hopefully I have located one thru the chevy dealer here in Bellingham, WA-will find that out next week. Am still open to any other available door assemblies.

Also my abs and t/c lightes started coming on a few weeks ago. While driving, if I turn ignition on and then right back off (car keeps running), the lights go off temporarily. Anyone have a suggestion of what the problem is? Sensors?

Thank you in advance and look forwared to future visits to this site.

Carol

Welcome.

Re: abs and t/c lights coming on, any suggestions would be a total guess, and would likely result in throwing $'s at parts that don't resolve the issue. What you need to do is have a code reader pull down the error codes from the OBDII system. The diagnostic codes will help narrow down the cause of the problem(s).
If you do not have a code reader, many autoparts stores will read the codes for you.

Re: door handle - there are aftermarket door handle replacements available (I gather you are referring to the chrome inside handle?) A google search will give you some good choices. FYI - the door handles are NOT designed to be used to pull the door closed - which is likely the cause of the handle breaking. The hand grip built into the inside door panel is the correct way of closing the door - kids will have to be shown how to do it properly. :)

Oh, if you use the search facility at the top of the page here, you can likely find some references to places where others have bought the door handles. One person even documented how he fixed his with some screws and epoxy.

Once again - WELCOME!!!
